ABEL TRUCHET (1857-1918) [DANSEUSES / LE QUADRILLE.] Two decorative panels. Circa 1900. Each approximately 25x32 3/4 inches, 63 1/2x83 cm. Condition A: Paper. Framed. Truchet was a familiar of Montmartre's cabarets and nightlife. This pair of decorative panels is based on his experiences inside the Moulin Rouge, and they are a charming and evocative (if somewhat romanticized) depiction of some of the dancing that took place within. Gold 203-4.
